Blinn College Brenham’s on-campus theater arts program will stage the drama play “Golden Boy” Feb. 17-20 at the Dr. WW O’Donnell Performing Arts Center.
Nightly performances begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 17 and Friday, February 18. There are also two matinee shows on Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20, both of which begin at 2 p.m.
“Golden Boy” is a play written by Clifford Odets. Steve Torres plays the main character Joe Bonaparte.
Blinn Theater Arts program director Brad Nies said the drama production explores Bonaparte’s “emotional struggle between the big business of boxing and his dream of being a concert violinist.”
Other cast members include Casey Prowell as Tom Moody, Samantha Nolen as Lorna Moon, Aiden McAllister as Tokio, Josiah Fernandez as Mr. Bonaparte, Garrison Rutledge as Siggie, Alyssa Hale as Anna, Bianca O’Neal as Roxy Gottlieb and Mikijah Gaines like Driscoll.
Student team members and designers are Dustin Rudolph, stage manager/playwright; Jayden Peavy, assistant stage manager/dramaturg; Madison McDonald, costume designer; Nathaniel Scheffel, makeup designer/costume team; Luke Parker, Property Manager/Property Management Team; Alexandria Leverette, sound designer; Amanda Winford, light panel operator; Jaylon Kelley, film crew/properties; Chett Sibley, Set Properties Execution Team; Christian Alderete, film crew/properties; and Ethan Juras, house manager.

Admission is free for all Blinn employees. Tickets are $5 each for Blinn students, children and seniors.
