Burnaby Summer Theater production of The Underlasting Forest premieres this week
Deer Lake Gallery invites people to enjoy shows this week.
The Burnaby Arts Council Gallery is hosting a live session at the gallery this Saturday, August 21.
The event, scheduled for 6.30 pm in the backyard of the gallery, will include two acts: a performance by the young duo Francis and Francheska, with classical violin and guitar; and a performance of the Burnaby Summer Theater production The Underlasting Forest.
Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy the shows.
Families can also attend performances of The Underlasting Forest in the gallery’s backyard on two other dates: Friday August 20 and Thursday August 26. The shows take place at noon and 2 p.m.
The show tells the story of Andy and Killian, two children who are transported to a dark and lonely forest inhabited by a mysterious character, The Gray. The two must find the courage to escape the forest and return together.
The performances are free and open to all; the gallery notes that the show is appealing to young families, daycare groups, summer camps and more.
The Deer Lake Gallery is located at 6584 Deer Lake Avenue.
