Missoula Children’s Theater Returns to Olympic Theater Arts


The Olympic Theater Arts Center is once again hosting the Missoula Children’s Theater in January.

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theater production of “The Emperor’s New Clothes” from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 10, the theater, 414 N. Sequim Ave.

Those auditioning should arrive at 3:30 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately after the audition.

Students in grades 2 through 12 are encouraged to audition; no prior preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be chosen to help with rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential behind-the-scenes responsibilities. If selected, participation in the program is $20 ($10 for each additional sibling).

Among the roles to be cast are: the Emperor; ManyPenny and the Money Council; the Royal Scholars Roxy and Red; Kings, Queens; Gem and the Royal Jewellers; Boots and the Royal Shoemakers; Lid and the Royal Hatters; Stitch and the Royal Tailors; and the royal silkworms.

Missoula Children’s Theater traveling productions are complete with costumes, sets, props and makeup. The cast/directors of the MCT Tour hold rehearsals throughout the week, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. daily.

The performance “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is scheduled for Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Olympic Theater Arts Center.
