1907 The writer and playwright Daphné du Maurier was born from the actors Gérald and Muriel du Maurier. Daphne later adapts her novel Rebecca in a play.

1919 Saint-Jean Ervinedrama of life in Ireland, John ferguson, is the first success of the Theater Guild. Augustin Duncan stages and plays the main role. He organized 177 performances at the Garrick Theater on Broadway.
