Theater Arts Productions (TAP) stages ‘ROALD DAHL’S JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH’ at Wellington High School


WELLINGTON, Florida – Theater Arts Productions (TAP) presents James and the giant peach by Roald Dahl of From Friday January 10 to Sunday January 12 at Wellington High School.

When James is sent by his accomplice aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a huge peach … and sets off on a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach, among human-sized insects with equally disproportionate personalities. After the oversized fruit falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, James and his new insect friends learn to live and work together as a family as they embark on a perilous journey. The adventure takes a whole different turn once they land on top of the Empire State Building.

James and the giant peach by Roald Dahl will feature a cast of 16 Palm Beach County actors ages 6 to 79. TAP Artistic Director Jaycie M. Cohen directs this production, leading a creative team made up of Music Director Michael Lubben, Assistant Music Director Gabriella Farrell, Choreographer Sara Kenny, Costume Designer. Giedre Priddy and sound designer / makeup artist Marlo Cohen.

Based on the classic children’s book of the same name, James and the giant peach by Roald Dahl features music and lyrics from OSCAR® and Tony Award® winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (A Christmas Story The Musical, Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, The Greatest Showman) and a book by Timothy Allen McDonald. James and the giant peach by Roald Dahl premiered at Goodspeed Musicals in Connecticut in 2010. A revised version of the musical premiered in 2014 at the Seattle Children’s Theater.

James and the giant peach by Roald Dahl is produced by special arrangement with Music Theater International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
